Movies Editorial Review
When the Wind Blows (DVD + Blu-ray) is a poignant animated film that tells the story of a naive retired couple, Jim and Hilda Bloggs, as they navigate the terrifying landscape of a nuclear threat. They follow government advice to prepare for an impending disaster, clinging to the hope that proper precautions will ensure their safety. The animations blend beautifully with live-action elements to create an emotional experience that alternates between humor and heartache. The film evokes laughter and tears, illustrating the couple's innocence and the tragic consequences of their misplaced trust in authority. It serves as a reminder of the stark reality of nuclear warfare, making it a thought-provoking watch.
