TP-Link TL-WA801N Editorial Review
The TP-Link TL-WA801N Wireless N Access Point has garnered a positive reception from users, particularly for its affordability and straightforward installation process. Customers appreciate its ability to serve as an effective access point for basic networking needs, offering speeds up to 300 Mbps sufficient for activities such as HD streaming and general internet browsing. Its various operational modes, including access point, repeater, client, and multi-SSID support, provide flexibility, making it an adaptable solution for diverse networking requirements. The inclusion of Power over Ethernet (PoE) support is highlighted as a significant advantage, allowing for easy installation in locations without direct access to electrical outlets. Many users have noted the device's enhanced coverage through its two removable 5dBi antennas, which contribute to its utility in smaller environments such as homes and small offices. However, the TP-Link TL-WA801N does face some drawbacks. It operates exclusively on the 2.4 GHz frequency band and may not meet the demands of high-bandwidth users or those in larger spaces. Feedback suggests that for very high-speed requirements, alternate models should be Considered. Some users have also expressed a desire for further customization options, such as DNS settings, which are not currently part of the offering. In summary, the TP-Link TL-WA801N is a solid entry-level access point catering primarily to users with basic networking needs who are looking for an economical and easy-to-use solution. For those requiring more advanced features or higher performance, exploring additional options would be advisable. **
