English Edition Audur Editorial Review
The Learning Icelandic 2016 book is highly recommended for self-teaching the language. It comes with an audio link and covers the Icelandic alphabet, pronunciation, grammar, and conversation lessons. The book received positive reviews for being immersive and conversational, with a more comprehensive grammar section than other beginner textbooks. The audio is useful, offering a variety of speakers and short segments, but the lack of CD can be overcome with an online version. Some found the book's $75 price tag unreasonable, while others appreciated the convenience of buying a used copy with writing inside but still functional. Overall, this resource is a great way to start learning the Icelandic language, but it requires some prior knowledge of the language's origins and good work ethic.
