Tunze Filter Accessories Editorial Review
The Tunze 6150 Stream pump is a completely revolutionary design that is completely silent even when running at high RPMs. It has a magnetic floating shaft which creates no friction or noise. The only noise that the pump makes is from the water deflecting against the propeller blades. This design should be perfect except for one small issue, the propeller shaft was not mounted perfectly centered in the pump in one user's experience. They contacted Tunze customer service and were offered to fix it but for a pump that costs $350+, it should work perfectly out of the box. Despite this issue, the user found the pump revolutionary, with the ability to run at low RPMs to make it suitable for small tanks. They plan to buy another Tunze 6150, but will wait a few months to see if the next shipment has the bug worked out.
