Blum Hinges SG_B07GMQFWVK_US Editorial Review
The Blum Compact Soft-Close Bluemotion Variable 1-3/8" Overlay Hinge is a highly recommended choice for anyone looking to add slow close functionality to their cabinet doors. With its easy installation process, simply swapping out the original hinges, you can enjoy the benefits of soft-close doors with minimal effort. This hinge is designed for cabinet doors and can support the standard weight of kitchen cabinets. The hinge is a variable overlay, allowing you to mount it at different distances from the inside edge of the opening. The minimum overlay is 1 3/8". The hinge pivot point also allows for some clearance adjustment, depending on the profile of the cabinet door edge. Customers have reported positive experiences with this product, noting that it is a "plug and play" solution and that they have not experienced any failures among the hinges they installed. The adjustability of the hinge is also praised, with reviewers mentioning that the three-way adjustments allow for excellent alignment of cabinet doors. One customer mentioned that the set they received was missing two screws, but they were able to use screws from their old hinges. Another customer mentioned that the hinge set they received was missing one hinge and had broken soft close buttons/switches on two hinges. Lack of mounting, adjusting, and installation instructions was also mentioned. Some reviewers have praised the Blum Compact Soft-Close Bluemotion Variable Overlay Hinge for its ability to hide the hinge, providing a more aesthetically pleasing look. However, one downside mentioned is that because the hinge is on the outside of the face frame, the cabinet door doesn't sit flush to the frame. One customer has compensated for this by adding a 1/8" stop on the opposite side. Overall, the Blum Compact Soft-Close Bluemotion Variable Overlay Hinge seems to be a popular choice among customers looking to upgrade their cabinet doors with soft-close functionality. It is easy to install, adjustable, and provides a sleek and modern look to any kitchen or bathroom vanity.
