What is the purpose of the Catit PIXI Cat Drinking Fountain Triple Action Water Filter?

The Catit PIXI Cat Drinking Fountain Triple Action Water Filter is designed to ensure your cat has access to clean and fresh drinking water. It utilizes a three-stage filtration process that effectively removes impurities, odors, and tastes from the water, making it more palatable for your feline friend. This is essential as many cats prefer fresh water, which encourages them to stay hydrated and promotes better overall health.

How often should I replace the Catit PIXI water filter?

It is recommended to replace the Catit PIXI water filter every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain optimal filtration performance. Regular replacement is crucial to prevent the buildup of contaminants and odors, ensuring your cat always has access to slake thirst with clean water. In situations where multiple pets are using the fountain, or if your cat is known to drink more often, a more frequent change might be necessary.

Can the Catit PIXI water filter be reused or washed?

No, the Catit PIXI water filter is designed for single use only. Once the filter has been used for its designated time frame, it is best to dispose of it and replace it with a new one to ensure consistent water quality. Washing or reusing filters may not remove all impurities, potentially putting your pet's health at risk by providing less than ideal drinking conditions.

Is the Catit PIXI water filter suitable for all cat breeds?

Yes, the Catit PIXI water filter is suitable for all cat breeds. Regardless of size or breed, cats benefit from access to clean water, which the filter provides efficiently. Cats with sensitive stomachs or older cats with health conditions can particularly benefit from the pure, unobstructed water provided by the filtered fountain.

What materials are used in the Catit PIXI water filter?

The Catit PIXI water filter is made from high-quality activated carbon and ion exchange resin. These materials are effective in removing impurities, toxins, and bad odors from the water, providing fresher drinking water for your cat. The use of safe, non-toxic materials also ensures that your pet's health is prioritized while utilizing the fountain.

Can the Catit PIXI fountain work without a filter?

While the Catit PIXI fountain can technically operate without a filter, it is strongly advised to use one. Without a filter, the fountain may not effectively purify the water, leading to unpleasant tastes and smells. This may deter your cat from drinking, thereby impacting its hydration. For optimal health, always run your fountain with a properly functioning filter.

How do I install the Catit PIXI water filter in the fountain?

Installing the Catit PIXI water filter is simple and straightforward. First, remove the fountain's top cover, then locate the filter compartment. Insert the filter into its designated slot, ensuring it fits snugly and securely. Once in place, reattach the top cover and fill the fountain with water. This process ensures your cat enjoys fresh water with minimal effort.

What is the shelf life of the Catit PIXI water filters?

The shelf life of Catit PIXI water filters is typically around two years when stored in a cool, dry place. This allows pet owners to stock up on filters without worrying about them expiring too soon. Ensure they remain sealed in their packaging until you're ready to use, which helps maintain their filtering effectiveness until needed.

Do multiple Catit PIXI filters come in a package?

Yes, the Catit PIXI water filters are sold in a convenient 3-pack. This package allows pet owners to replace the filter regularly without the need to make frequent purchases. Having extra filters on hand ensures that you always maintain a supply of fresh drinking water for your cat, aligning with their hydration needs.
