Gentle Giant Format: Audio CD Editorial Review
The Octopus remixed by Steven Wilson is a must-have for fans of progressive rock, and especially for fans of Gentle Giant. The album, released in 1972, is the band's fourth album, and features Gary Green, Kerry Minnear, Derek Shulman, Phil Shulman, Ray Schulman and John Weathers. The remix is done well and along with the original eight tracks, the CD includes an extra 15 minutes of live material titled Excerpts from Octopus 1976. The production quality of the album is a bit disappointing but it's not so terrible that it can't be dealt with. Wilson's remixing is Consistent and excellent in sound, and Gentle Giant is a truly unique band even amongst progressive rock of the 70s.
