Hitman: Absolution (Professional Edition) -Xbox 360

**Editorial Review of Hitman: Absolution (Professional Edition) - Xbox 360** Hitman: Absolution marks a new chapter for the franchise, and while it retains core elements that fans recognize and enjoy, it also pivots towards a different style of gameplay that could leave longstanding fans divided. Many players have expressed their excitement about the game's quality, specifically its stunning visuals and well-designed sound effects that immerse you into the eerie world of assassination. The attention to detail in environments, from the rain-soaked streets to rich voice acting, enhances the game's overall atmosphere, contributing to its replay value due to numerous challenges and alternative approaches to missions. However, this title diverges significantly from its predecessors. There's a notable shift in focus from the classic stealth mechanics of disguising and executing targets discreetly to a gameplay style that prioritizes sneaking past enemies, often with less emphasis on direct confrontation. Some fans feel this transforms the experience from one of strategic assassination to a more linear stealth shooter approach, which lacks the thrill and freedom that defined earlier installments. The inability to select weapons prior to missions and upgrade them during gameplay has also frustrated players, as these were features that added depth to the gaming experience. The contracts mode introduced some fun but lacks the intricacy one might expect, limiting choices around available targets and diminishing strategic planning. Overall, while Hitman: Absolution offers fun moments and can be played repeatedly, it leaves some players yearning for the freedoms and complexities that made earlier titles standout successes. For players who enjoy more stealth-based gameplay or are new to the Hitman series, this iteration can still be an enjoyable experience. However, for long-time fans expecting a return to the franchise's roots, they may find that the latest entry doesn't quite live up to the legacy of what made Hitman such a beloved series. **
