Unlock the creative possibilities of pairing your Canon EOS (EF/EF-S) mount D/SLR camera with a fantastic Large Format 4x5 camera using this adapter. Designed to fit popular large format 4x5 view cameras with a Graflok back, such as Cambo, Linhof, Calumet, Horseman, Omega, Toyo, and Kodak, this adapter allows you to mount your film or digital back in a vertical position and slide it from side to side. Fotodiox Camera Mounts & Clamps 4x5-EF-P Editorial Review
The Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter for connecting Canon EOS D/SLR cameras to large format 4x5 view cameras has garnered mixed reviews from customers, with a blend of enthusiasm for its potential and frustrations regarding its design limitations. Many users have highlighted the ease of use and functionality of the adapter for creating high-resolution panoramic images. With a focus on tethered shooting, users report that the process is seamless for capturing and merging images into stunning 95-megapixel files in software like Lightroom and Photoshop. Particularly, the ability to use digital SLRs in conjunction with large format cameras opens up new creative avenues for photographers in studio settings or those working with static subjects. However, issues from some users have emerged regarding the design and manufacturing quality of the adapter. Reports of poor fitting, thick edges that risk detachment, wobbly rotating mounts, and vignetting from the long barrel Construction are common. Users expressed that the adapter’s design requires a longer focal length lens (120mm or greater), which can be limiting for those accustomed to wide-angle photography. Additionally, some noted the absence of instructions and inaccurate markings for attachment, leading to a learning curve in its initial setup. Overall, while the Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter shows great promise for users looking to achieve large files from a combination of large format and digital photography, potential buyers should weigh its viability against the significant design drawbacks mentioned by some customers. **
