WEEMS & PLATH Protractors Editorial Review
The Weems & Plath #104 Professional Protractor Triangle has garnered a solid reputation among maritime professionals and navigational enthusiasts, often praised for its quality and robust design. Users appreciate the heavy-duty Construction, noting its thickness and durability compared to standard protractors. The protractor includes useful features, such as a pencil holder/handle and a hole for swinging headings from a divider point, which enhance its practicality for plotting. Many reviewers highlight its effectiveness in laying off bearings, particularly in nautical contexts, such as maritime training and collision investigation. Individuals who utilize the protractor for chart plotting and navigation find it effective for educational purposes, adding versatility to its functionalities. However, the product is not without its drawbacks. Some users express a desire for the degree scale markings to extend further towards the sides to better accommodate its thickness. A few critiques point out the absence of bevelled edges, which makes accurate line drawing challenging, especially from certain angles. Additionally, the lack of one-degree markings on the etching has been noted as a limitation for precise angle measurement. Overall, the Weems & Plath #104 Professional Protractor Triangle is highly regarded within its niche, praised for its sturdy Construction and practical features while also facing Constructive feedback regarding its design elements and usability. **
